What a feed!

On Friday July 8th, the Lighthouse Committee held their 2nd Annual Lobster supper right at the Hampton wharf. The weather was perfect, the tide was high, the lobsters fresh, and the volunteers plentiful. Ticket holders were rewarded with a full lobster (boiled right at the wharf), potato salad, cole slaw and a fresh bread roll, baked locally. Most people ordered to take away but many enjoyed the ambiance and the weather and set up their tables and chairs right on the wharf or the beach. A whopping 192 customers were served in under 2 hours.

This was such an amazing event. So glad that I could participate. To many reading this, it may sound humanly impossible, but I’d never had a lobster dinner, let alone one directly from the Bay of Fundy! I had to have lessons on how to eat it, as well. I just want to congratulate all of the volunteers on a really great job. Keeping the lighthouse in fine working order is a wonderful goal for this unique community.
